Accidental Death of an Anarchist
The Raptus Will Set You Free
Minneapolis Theatre Garage
711 West Franklin Avenue
Minneapolis
June 2 - June 18, 2006
When an anarchist accused of bombing a bank "accidentally" falls out fourth floor window, the police are quick to cover their tracks. But the
arrival of a maniac in disguise and a shrewd reporter soon have the authorities scrambling to retract their amendments and amend their retractions.
Directed by nimbus co-artistic director Liz Neerland, Accidental Death of an Anarchist closes nimbus's 2005-2006 season. In its first two years of production in Italy, Nobel Laureate Dario Fo's notorious farce was seen by over half a million people. At the time Fo's scathing satire was a commentary on the rampant police corruption in late 1960's Italy. Today it serves as a hilarious but sobering look at how misguided those we trust to protect us can really be.
Tickets to the Opening Night Performance and Gala are $16, Thursday performances are $10, and all other performances are $12. There is a special pay-what-you-can performance on Monday, June 12th.
